Need help with an affordable Internet connection for your student or family?

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a U.S. government run program available from the Federal Communications Commission (F.C.C.) that helps low-income households pay for Internet service and connected devices. If you think you may qualify for this service, visit their website at https://www.affordableconnectivity.gov/ to learn more.

The ACP program has a list of available providers that can offer free or discounted services. Some even provide devices at low cost. This type of access is not limited and is available for all family members of a household; see rules and conditions on the ACP site.

If your student(s) need dedicated access at home and qualify, Smithfield Public Schools may be able to help in providing temporary access. Contact our Asst. Superintendent Sara Monaco to learn more and understand the process for application. Should your application be approved, you would be provided with a access point that provides service for your student(s) Internet access using Smithfield Public School issued devices.
