Dear Families and Staff,
We would like to thank our students, families, and staff for making this such a successful and memorable year. We celebrated many accomplishments, learned new skills, and created lasting memories together. We are incredibly proud of our students for demonstrating our school expectations to Be Kind, Be Safe, and Work Hard throughout the year. We wish all of our families a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer break!
Summer Learning
To help prevent the "summer slide" and keep students engaged in learning, summer packets went home last week. We encourage students to spend time reading each day and completing activities from their packets throughout the summer. Even 20 minutes of reading daily can make a significant difference in maintaining academic skills and preparing students for a strong start in the fall.!
Congratulations Fifth Graders!
A special congratulations goes out to our fifth-grade students as they move on to middle school. We are so proud of all they have accomplished during their time at Pleasant View Elementary School. Best of luck at Gallagher Middle School—we know you will continue to Be Kind, Be Safe, and Work Hard as you begin this exciting new chapter. Don't forget to complete your summer packets and read throughout the summer to help prevent the summer slide and start the new school year strong!
Congratulations On Your Retirement Mrs. Luca!
After 22 years of dedicated service to the Smithfield School District, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Nancy Luca on her retirement. Throughout her career, Nancy has made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and staff through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping children succeed.
Nancy's dedication to our school community has been truly appreciated, and her presence will be greatly missed. Her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and caring nature have touched the lives of so many. We thank Nancy for her years of service and wish her happiness, good health, and many wonderful adventures in retirement.
Thank You To Our PTO!
A special thank you to Alycia Casazza, our PTO President, whose leadership helped launch the Panda Players play production three years ago. This opportunity provided our students with a wonderful creative outlet and showcased their many talents. You will be missed!
Thank you to Deb Bettencourt, our Treasurer, for the many ways you supported our school. From helping with the communication board project and making Unified Buddies and opportunities to ensuring our new communication board was installed, your efforts have made our school more inclusive and welcoming for all students. You will be missed!
We are also grateful to Carly Warrener for leading the Fifth Grade Committee, along with Caitlyn Adler and the many parent volunteers who helped create memorable experiences for our fifth-grade students as they celebrated their final year at Pleasant View. You will be missed!
Finally, thank you to all of our new PTO Board members for stepping into leadership roles and continuing the tradition of supporting our students, staff, and families. Your enthusiasm and commitment are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to all that we will accomplish together in the years ahead.
