Spring Picture Day is coming on Wednesday, March 11th!
You can place your order on mylifetouch.com using your Picture Day ID: EVTGZ9NXV. Order before midnight on Picture Day to get FREE shipping!
Your child can also bring their completed flyer with cash or check on Wednesday, March 11th. Orders after Picture Day must be placed online only on mylifetouch.com.
There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, March 9th for Staff Professional Day. We look forward to seeing all students on Tuesday, March 10th back at school.
Chromebooks
Chromebooks will go home this evening and every Friday with the expectation that students will bring their Chromebook to school on Monday fully charged. The superintendent announced that we will only send the Chromebooks home Monday-Thursday if snow is in the forecast.

There will be a Disability Simulation Lab for grades 3, 4, and 5 on Monday and Wednesday in the Open Learning Lab. The Disability Read Alouds for K. 1, 2 - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during 5th-grade recess and specials. There will be an Inclusion Buddy Sale: Monday-Friday during 5th-grade specials in the gym. A schedule will be sent to classroom teachers so they know which day their class may come to the sale.
“Inclusion Buddies are little handmade critters that our 5th Grade Unified Committee created. No two are the same, just like us! They are here to remind us that everyone is unique and different in their own way. The proceeds will go towards the purchase and installation of our Playground Communication Board. Inclusion Buddies will be sold during Respect Week. “

Everyday Speech Update
This week was the perfect time to continue our focus on showing kindness. Students watched a brief video where they are encouraged to practice empathy, thoughtful actions, and inclusive behaviors that help everyone feel valued every day.

Blue Ribbon Note
Did you know Schools can receive a Blue Ribbon in the areas of Achievement Gap Closing and Exemplary High Performing? At PVES we continue to celebrate closing the achievement gap and the academic progress made by our students. We also want to highlight that our ATSI (Additional Targeted Support & Improvement) subgroup for special education exited due to the growth made in mathematics by the staff and students
Survey Works/Help Us Highlight What A WONDERFUL School PVES is!
Just a reminder to complete your SURVEY WORKS. To date, we have 92 family surveys completed with R.I.D.E.
We would like to boost our Survey Works completion numbers from 250 in 2025 to 300 or higher for 2026. Any parent who has completed their child’s Survey Works survey can enter to win a drawing by emailing pvesurveyworks@smithfield-ps.org and sending a screenshot of your submitted Survey Works. The deadline for all Survey Works is April 10th, 2026. Thank you for your support!
The prizes for student winners of the drawings include:
