#Engage, Energize,& Educate
December 5th
Dear Pleasant View Families,
Today marks the 67th day of school and it has been another busy and exciting week at Pleasant View Elementary! Our students and staff are fully engaged in a variety of activities as we head towards the winter break. The energy in the building is wonderful, and we appreciate your continued partnership in helping make this season meaningful for our school community.
A heartfelt thank you to our PTO for planning the Holiday Night which will be spectacular this evening. Their hard work and dedication create memorable experiences for our students, and we are truly grateful for their support.

Read 6-7 Days A Week
At Pleasant View Elementary, we continue to emphasize the importance of strong reading habits both in school and at home. Two practices that make a significant difference in a child’s growth as a reader are independent reading and reading aloud.
Independent reading allows students to build stamina, explore books they enjoy, and practice reading at their own pace. The more children read on their own, the more confident and fluent they become. This daily practice helps expand vocabulary, deepen comprehension, and foster a lifelong love of reading.
Reading out loud is equally valuable. When students read aloud—whether to a parent, sibling, or even to themselves—they strengthen oral fluency, improve pronunciation, and develop expression. It also gives adults an opportunity to hear how their child is progressing and celebrate their growth.
We encourage families to set aside time each day for both types of reading. These simple routines have a powerful impact on academic success and help create meaningful connections around books
Finally, send us a picture of your child reading and we’ll put their picture on our in-school television.

Feinstein Food Drive Runs November 13th-December 12th
Our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is now under way, and we are grateful for the generosity our community shows each year. All donations will directly support local families in need during the holiday season. If you are able, please consider sending in non-perishable items to help us make a meaningful difference for those who could use a little extra support.
Thank you for your kindness and for helping our students learn the value of giving back.
